A Citybus collided with building scaffolding on Wong Nai Chung Road in Happy Valley on Thursday afternoon, sending bamboo poles through the vehicle's upper-deck windows.
The incident occurred around 3pm when the Route 117 bus toward Sham Shui Po struck scaffolding adjacent to the road near Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital. The driver stopped immediately after detecting the collision and reported the incident.

Photographs showed one upper-deck window completely shattered with bamboo poles protruding through the glass, while an adjacent window displayed cracking damage.
Emergency personnel confirmed no injuries and reported no major scaffolding collapse at the scene. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
