Civets trapped in Happy Valley parking lot rescued

A Masked Palm Civet was found trapped between a roller shutter and ceiling at the Hong Kong Jockey Club headquarters parking lot in Happy Valley on Monday at around 11pm.

Staff discovered the animal and called emergency services. Firefighters arrived to find the civet moving between the shutter and wall, possibly injured. Due to the narrow space, rescue efforts proved difficult.

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) was contacted to assist with the rescue operation.
