The 15th National Games of the People’s Republic of China, along with the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 9th National Special Olympics Games, will officially begin on November 9 and December 8, 2025, respectively. Held once every four years and representing the country’s highest-level multi-sports event, the Games is co-hosted by Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao for the first time.
RTHK will broadcast this sports spectacle live on RTHK TV31, TV32, and TV36, as well as on RTHK radio channels. In addition to providing commentary in Cantonese and Putonghua, RTHK also offers audio descriptions and sign language services.

Specifically, the TV programme “Live Coverage of 15th National Games” on RTHK TV32 will be showing major matches live every day, while RTHK TV31 will provide one hour of highlights at 9 pm. A new RTHK TV36 channel is launched as an inclusive channel to offer audio descriptive commentary during live broadcasts, with evening recaps featuring sign language interpretations.
Furthermore, TV audiences can now enjoy a novel and dynamic experience, as RTHK has integrated artificial intelligence technology into the broadcast production of the National Games, including the use of AI tools to generate visual elements for promotional videos and intelligently editing highlights of the events.

Smart broadcasting is made possible at RTHK’s fully-equipped studio in the media center of the Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park. According to Angelina Kwan, Director of Broadcasting, RTHK began making preparations more than one year ago, focusing on equipment and programme production.
Upgrades have been made to broadcasting hardware and communication systems. Fiber optic, 5G, and cloud transmission technologies are in place to broadcast event signals provided by the Games and on-site footage of the competitions filmed by RTHK's field teams, ensuring real-time and stable reception and transmission of matches from other regions.
RTHK has also pioneered innovative broadcasting technology for the Games, combining Extended Reality (XR) and Augmented Reality (AR) technologies for the first time, along with the largest ultra-high-definition LED screen production system in Hong Kong's television network.
The RTHK commentator team for the Games also boasts an impressive lineup of sports presenters and sports champions, including Edcon Gabriel Yau, Stephanie Ho Ngan Si, Emil Cheung, Alison Yu Chui-yee, Tiffany Tang Yi Ching, Maggie Lam Ting Kan, Rikko Lee, Maisy Ma, Sky Lam, Daniel Chan Ho Yuen, Debbie Lo and Deputy Head of CCTV Hong Kong Bureau Zhu Dan. Comprehensive coverage of the Games can be found on RTHK’s dedicated website (rthk.hk/nationalgames).
