Citybus announced on Thursday a 2.5 percent pay raise for all frontline staff members next year in recognition of their hard work.
The adjustment comes after multiple meetings with staff and union representatives.
Bus captains and non-supervisory frontline employees will be assured a minimum salary increment of no less than HK$600. The salary adjustment for frontline personnel will take effect one quarter prior, while supervisory staff will receive their raises upon performance evaluations, with a retroactive period back to September 1.
Citybus noted that various factors were considered for the wage adjustment, including labor market trends, changes in the Consumer Price Index, operational challenges, and business revenue.
The company expressed gratitude for the team’s efforts during the wage review process, hoping the new adjustments would boost morale.
Additionally, they acknowledged the significant contributions of employees over the past year, particularly in advancing new energy initiatives and restoring services following extreme weather events.
Looking ahead, Citybus and its owner, Hans Group Holdings, are committed to enhancing the work environment, ensuring that the new Citybus canteen and other employee facilities operate at high standards while prioritizing employee welfare and job security.
