HK Airport's T2 coach lounge operates smoothly on first day during T8 signal

Hong Kong International Airport's newly expanded Terminal 2 commenced its first-phase operation on Tuesday, with the newly constructed coach lounge beginning service despite approaching typhoon conditions.

The Airport Authority confirmed before midnight Tuesday that HKIA had completed all scheduled flights for the day, processing approximately 600 flights. All passengers within terminal restricted areas had either boarded aircraft or departed the facility.

The newly operational coach lounge provides one-stop cross-border coach services, marking a significant milestone in enhancing connectivity between Hong Kong International Airport and the Greater Bay Area. The facility began operations smoothly even as the Hong Kong Observatory prepared to issue the No. 9 typhoon signal at 1:40am on Wednesday.
