The Airport Authority said that with the Black Rainstorm Warning in effect, airport operations remained largely normal—with 61 departures and 40 arrivals delayed, one departure and one arrival canceled, and two arrivals diverted as of this morning.
The canceled flights were Fiji Airways flight FJ392, originally scheduled to depart for Nadi at 4.20pm, and HK Express flight UO152, originally scheduled to depart for Hualien at 5.55pm.
The Airport Authority anticipates that the adverse weather today will continue to affect some flight operations.
Passengers are advised to check the latest flight information with their airlines before heading to the airport and to confirm their flight times in advance.
Travelers can also visit the Hong Kong International Airport website or use the “My HKG” mobile app for the latest flight updates.
Additionally, transportation to and from the airport may be impacted by the severe weather, so passengers are urged to allow extra time for their journeys.
