Police were called to a village house in San Uk Tsuen on Yuen Long’s Tin Ha Road Tuesday morning after neighbors reported a foul odor emanating from the property. Firefighters forced their way inside and discovered five dogs trapped in the unit, two of which had already died.

The call came at around 8am this morning. Following the discovery, authorities immediately contacted the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) for assistance and are attempting to locate the occupants of the residence for questioning.
Police have since classified the case as animal cruelty.

According to sources, the deceased dogs were a German Shepherd and a Poodle, while the three surviving dogs - two German Shepherds and a Poodle - were severely emaciated.
The unit was in appalling condition, with feces scattered across the floor and a strong stench filling the air. Neighbors claimed that no one had been seen entering or leaving the property for nearly a month.
