The Hong Kong Jockey Club has long been a staunch supporter of the nation’s major sports events and recently announced it has appropriated funding of over HK$500 million to support this year’s 15th National Games, 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and 9th National Special Olympic Games in the Hong Kong and Guangdong competition regions.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club fully supports the Hong Kong and Guangdong competition regions of the 15th National Games, 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and 9th National Special Olympic Games.
For the Hong Kong Competition Region, the Club has committed HK$450 million and will serve as sole Partner Sponsor of all three events. The Club’s sponsorship will be invaluable in supporting volunteer service programmes, territory-wide community and school promotional activities, and initiatives that enable underprivileged groups and youth to attend the events as spectators. Club staff are also getting involved, with around 100 members of its CARE@hkjc volunteer team helping out during the competitions.
Additionally, the Club is supporting the three games in the Guangdong Competition Region, which includes technical support for the equestrian events of the 15th National Games. With its world-class expertise in equestrian sport, the Club will provide technical support in the areas of venue design, horse welfare, anti-doping, stable management, event service and support, and publicity and community engagement. A team of experts deployed by the Club will provide support and equipment for the events to ensure they are conducted to a high standard. The Club will also support official activities, volunteer services and promotion work in the Guangdong Competition Region. The Club has appropriated a total of RMB 50 million for the above initiatives.
This generous contribution highlights the Club’s support for national sporting events and its strong commitment to promoting sports development. It will significantly enhance preparations for the three games in the Hong Kong and Guangdong competition regions.
