This marks Xia’s third consecutive annual inspection trip to Macau, underscoring Beijing’s focus on the region’s development. During his stay, he is expected to evaluate the performance of Macau’s new-term government and assess economic progress.
On Friday morning, several top Macau political figures visited Xia at the hotel he is staying.
Attendees included former Chief Executives Ho Iat-seng and Chui Sai-on, as well as Edmund Ho Hau-wah, Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
The previous day, Xia held talks with Macau’s top officials at the Government Headquarters, meeting with leaders of the executive, legislative, and judicial branches.
During the discussions, he conveyed President Xi Jinping's greetings to the people of Macau and reaffirmed the central government’s support for the new-term SAR administration.
