As the government budget is expected to be unveiled next month, consultancy firm Deloitte recommended using technology to address staffing vacancies amid a budget deficit.

Polly Wan, a tax partner at Deloitte China, indicated that salary reduction for civil servants should undergo a cost-benefit analysis, suggesting filling the current staffing gaps through technology means.
Wan also emphasized that a study of the percentage of pay cuts for civil servants should be conducted before the implementation of salary reductions.
