Police arrested a couple at the West Kowloon High-Speed Rail station in connection to a suspected murder of a Southeast Asian female woman hose body was discovered at the Waterfall Bay Park in Aberdeen.
Officers said the 25-year-old victim, a domestic helper in Hong Kong, had headed towards Waterfall Bay Sunday night (Oct 27) with a man, but the man later left alone. The woman was later found dead under a waterfall.
The male suspect, an ethnically mixed Hong Kong resident, fled to the mainland on Monday before returning to Hong Kong by High-Speed Rail.
Officers arrested the man together with his wife for assisting him in fleeing Hong Kong at West Kowloon Station. The man was detained on suspicion of murder and his wife was held on suspicion of assisting offenders.
Officers are still confirming the relationship between the couple and the victim.
The victim was discovered wearing a black shirt and trousers but barefoot, floating under a waterfall at Waterfall Bay Park in Aberdeen near Wah Fu Estate.
Paramedics detected suspicious injuries on the rear of the woman’s head and pronounced her dead at the scene.
