The MTR Corporation has announced today that all gates at Tai Wai Station will be put into service starting Thursday night.
The Corp announced that all gates at Tai Wai Station will be put into service starting tonight and stated that there are now six stations, or nearly half of the East Rail Line automatic gate installation works, have been completed and put into service.
These stations include the Racecourse, Lok Ma Chau, Sheung Shui, Sha Tin and Tai Po Market.
At the same time, it has also reached the target of completing four station installation projects, which was announced earlier in the first half of this year.
The rail giant also stated that the company is actively advancing the installation progress of the remaining stations and aims to complete the gate installation works at a total of nine stations within this year.
During the gate installation works, the MTR will dispatch platform assistants to maintain order and assist passengers in need.
Different safety facilities have also been put in place, and passengers are reminded not to stand near the edge of the platform or trespass on the track.
The MTR Corporation stated they will closely monitor platform conditions and proactively provide passengers with appropriate assistance to avoid accidents as much as possible.
