Police said on Tuesday that a truck driver was arrested for dangerous driving after he lowered the tail lift before checking for traffic, almost slashing an Audi in half.
A dashcam video was shared online recently, capturing the near-death moment of an Audi driver traveling on Tin Mei Street in Tin Shui Wai.
The truck can be seen in the video parking horizontally across the road, with the driver lowering the tail lift preparing to unload the goods.
Just as the tail lift was lowered, a white Audi drove by and almost crashed into the “blade” hanging mid-air.
The driver of the Audi managed to steer away at the very last moment, yet his left mirror was still knocked off by the tail lift.
Police said they received a report of the incident on Monday afternoon and arrested the driver, aged 45, in the morning of the following day.
