Man brandishing knife during emotional meltdown arrested

An unstable man was arrested after brandishing a knife during an emotional meltdown in Tin Shui Wai on Monday night.

Shortly before 11 p.m. yesterday (May 6), the police received a report from a woman named Leung, who stated that her younger brother was waving a knife while emotionally unstable at their apartment in Tin Yiu Estate.

The police arrived at the scene and seized the 40-centimeter-long knife from the man.

After a preliminary investigation, the 37-year-old man was arrested for possession of an offensive weapon.

The case has been handed over to the Yuen Long police district for follow-up.

He was uninjured, but taken to the Tin Shui Wai Hospital for examination.
