Signal fault disrupts Airport Express, Tung Chung Line MTR services

Due to a signaling fault at Hong Kong Station, Airport Express trains between Hong Kong Station and Kowloon Station as well as trains on the Tung Chung Line between Hong Kong Station and Kowloon Station will operate at a slower speed, the MTR said on Tuesday afternoon.

The railway operator said this could extend the total journey time of the Airport Express between Hong Kong Station and AsiaWorld-Expo Station as well as the Tung Chung Line between Hong Kong Station and Tung Chung Station by 15 to 20 minutes each.

In-town Check-in service is also suspended until further notice, said the MTR.

Commuters are advised to consider using alternative MTR Lines or other transport and allow more time for travel.
