Dah Chong Hong Food Mart announced it would close all its retail branches in April, laying off more than 100 of its employees.
The Food Mart, a subsidiary of Dah Chong Hong Holdings Limited established in 1985, has been issuing termination notices to its employees, citing uncertain external factors and operational challenges as the primary reasons behind this decision.
Its parent company, Dah Chong Hong, will continue the procurement, distribution, and food processing business as usual.
The Food Mart, having more than 50 stores across the territory, has long been a go-to destination for Hong Kong residents seeking a wide range of fresh produce and groceries.
