76-year-old man among five bikers arrested for street racing near Bride's Pool Road

Police arrested a 76-year-old biker and three others on Thursday morning after their street racing was discovered in Tai Po on Monday afternoon.

Shortly before 2 p.m. on February 26 (Mon), police received a report stating that a biker heading towards Tai Po via Bride's Pool Road had lost control and crashed into a stone barrier.

The 66-year-old biker suffered from leg injuries and was taken to the Prince of Wales Hospital for medical attention.

The New Territories North traffic unit took over the investigation and discovered that the man was racing with four other bikes.

Police arrested four bikers this morning, aged between 61 and 78, in Yuen Long, Tai Po, Sha Tin, and Tin Shui Wai, for illegal racing, reckless driving, and driving without third-party insurance.

They are currently remanded in police custody for investigation.

The police were also able to seize the vehicles and clothing they wore while committing the crime.
