The video showed that the incident happened yesterday afternoon (Jan 3). It can be seen that the van was driving in the fast lane on Tai Po Road towards the direction of Mong Kok.
The van switched lanes, attempting to enter the slow lane and is suspected it was planning to park between the two trucks.
However, it struck the bike as it attempted to undercut the van, causing the biker to fall off his bike.
The biker was found injured on the floor while his bike continued to skid forward striking the rear of a parked truck.
After the collision, the van driver got out of the vehicle to check on the injured biker and contact the police.
A police spokesman stated that last night around 2.38 pm, a van heading towards Mong Kok struck a bike while switching lanes.
The 36-year-old biker suffered some scrapes and was taken to the Caritas Medical Center for medical attention. The 42-year-old van driver did not suffer any injuries.
