Five people were injured on Thursday morning after a Light Rail train crashed into a minivan near the Tin Shui stop in Tin Shui Wai.
The incident happened at around 9 am when the Light Rail train on route 705 traveling towards Tin Shui Wai station plowed into the side of the minivan.
Three female passengers in the minivan, along with a janitor and another female passenger on board the train suffered minor injuries.
They were all brought to Tin Shui Wai Hospital for treatment.
The MTRC said due to the incident, relevant services were suspended for about 25 minutes and has since resumed normal services. It also noted that records indicate the Light Rail train had followed traffic light signals prior to the incident.
