Police were alerted to two cases of gold chain theft in Sham Shui Po and Tsuen Wan on Monday. No arrests have been made so far.
The first case occurred at 10 am after a 68-year-old man surnamed Sze was approached by a woman aged between 40 and 50 at the junction of Yu Chau Street and Pei Ho Street.
He was led to an apartment in the Tung Hing Building and had his HK$18,000 gold chain nabbed while taking off his shirt.
His son called the police later; the case was listed as theft and handed over to the Sham Shui Po police district.
Sze did not suffer any injuries and was taken to the police station to assist in the investigation.
The second case happened around an hour later in Tsuen Wan, where a 76-year-old man surnamed Lam was approached by a 50-year-old woman in Ho Pui Street who claimed to provide massage services.
Lam was taken to an apartment on Tai Ho Road and found that the woman and his HK$78,000 gold chain had disappeared without a trace while he was showering.
The case was handed over to the Tsuen Wan police district, and no arrests have been made so far.
