The director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office (HKMAO) Xia Baolong was briefed by the HKSAR government on the city's policies and reviews of the work of district administration such as district councils.

HKMAO announced the news on Tuesday, while the SAR government spokesperson expressed gratitude to Xia for receiving the brief in Shenzhen.
However, the government didn't reveal more details about the date and the agenda in the meeting with Xia.
"Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu has been maintaining effective communication with the Central government about the administration in Hong Kong," said the spokesperson, "to ensure the implementation of "one country, two systems", "Hong Kong people administering Hong Kong" and a high degree of autonomy.
Besides, the SAR government said the term of the current members of district councils will end this year. The Home and Affairs Bureau will, along with the Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau, launch a review of the work of district administration and will announce the details in due course.
