A yacht caught fire in Ap Lei Chau on Monday morning, with smoke billowing into the sky.

At around 10.09am, police received a report that a yacht moored near Praya Road was engulfed in fire.
The fire was classified as a No.2 alarm fire by the Fire Services Department, which meant citizens in the nearby area had to be evacuated. It was put out at 11.30am.
It is understood that the yacht in question was undergoing renovation. There was nobody on it when the fire broke out.
Officers are investigating if the fire was related to its renovation.
After firemen put out the fire, the yacht was severely damaged and only its frame remained. Officers continued to spray water at it to lower its temperature.
