He was accused of attempting to damage a police vehicle by throwing a water bottle at it, and having a laser pointer at the junction of Nathan Road and Portland Street in Mong Kok on October 13 last year.
The defendant has been remanded in custody for eight months.
During mitigation, the defense revealed that the defendant has a seven-year-old son, and hoped the court would consider that he did not cause substantial damage to the vehicle and did not use the laser pointer.
The acting principal magistrate said there was reason to believe that the defendant carried the laser pointer to affect the police in executing duties.
