Media Asia joins hands with Louis Koo, Angelababy

Media Asia (8075) is to set up an entertainment company with Hong Kong actor Louis Koo Tin-lok's film enterprise One Cool Group.

Hong Kong model and actress Angelababy Yang Ying is a strategic investor of the new company Cool Style and other investors include Angelababy's agent Kim Chou and Hong Kong film director Stephen Fung Tak Lun's production company Film Magic Pictures.

Cool Style's business scope includes artist management and related businesses. It aims to cultivate new forces with abundant resources and platforms, injecting new impetus into the industry.

The company will produce local films to nurture and provide opportunities for new actors and to make short videos targeting social media and e-commerce to capture the huge market opportunity brought by the trend of short videos.

Cool Style will cooperate with multiple networks and channels in the online video platform, aiming to use the Internet to empower the local film industry.

The news comes after Media Asia Media's share placement was completed just days ago. One Cool Group was among the list of shareholders that bought more shares.

Media Asia says Cool Style will combine the advantages of the two companies and make cooperation closer between the two parties.

In addition to the cooperation in the production of multiple films, the two parties have previously established a joint venture to produce the television series Who Sells Bricks in Hong Kong.
