Russian tourist found dead in Wan Chai hotel room

A 35-year-old woman from Russia was found unconscious in her room at a hotel in Wan Chai on Friday afternoon and was certified dead at the scene, prompting a police investigation into the sudden death.

Police received a report from hotel staff at around 3pm today that a female guest had collapsed inside her room at the premises between 41 and 49 Hennessy Road.

Paramedics rushed to the scene but could only confirm that the woman had already passed away.

The tourist, who had entered Hong Kong on her passport, and the exact cause of death will be determined after a post-mortem examination.
