WestK Ferry route trials for four days

The newly launched WestK Ferry route began a four-day trial run starting Monday (Nov 10), offering 3,000 complimentary one-way tickets for adults and 500 free one-way tickets for pets, valid for the first two days of the official opening (Nov 15-16). 

The ferry service connects West Kowloon Quay (WestK Quay) and Central Pier No. 9, offering an approximately eight-minute journey across Victoria Harbour with departures every 30 minutes. 

Ticket prices: 

• Adult: HK$20
• Children aged 3-11, senior citizens aged 65 or above, and passengers with disabilities: HK$10
• Monthly pass: HK$560
• Pet: HK$20

All vessels are equipped with air-conditioned cabins and allow passengers to bring bicycles and pets onboard, with the upper deck being pet-friendly. 

A total of around 400 to 500 free tickets have been given out at the WestK Quay.

A US tourist remarked that the WestK Ferry is bumpier than the Star Ferry, but appreciated the nice scenery. He initially planned to take the MTR from Kowloon Station to Central Station but opted for the ferry instead, reducing the travel time to about 10 minutes, which he found convenient. 

A couple collected the free tickets when passing by Central in the morning. The wife pointed out that it was a good initiative to allow pets on the ferry, making it convenient for owners to take their pets around.
