A devastating fire broke out at a tin shed in Sheung Yau Tin Tsuen along Lang Ho Road in Yuen Long on Wednesday afternoon, resulting in the deaths of 20 dogs and 4 cats, while firefighters managed to save 34 other dogs from the blaze.

The incident occurred around 3pm, prompting a swift response from the firefighters, who arrived on scene and deployed a water jet and a breathing apparatus team to extinguish the flames.
It is understood that there were 20 dogs and four cats deceased at the scene, with 34 dogs surviving the fire.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Images from the site captured the intense efforts of firefighters as they pulled out large groups of cats and dogs, many of them barely clinging to life.
Several rescuers knelt on the ground, working desperately to revive the distressed pets, but despite their best attempts, some could not be saved.
The bodies of those lost were placed into black plastic bags for later removal and examination.
