The three-day tournament will feature 12 elite men's and women's teams, with eight core teams including rugby powerhouses Australia, New Zealand, France, Britain, and Fiji already securing automatic qualification, while the remaining four slots will be awarded to winners of the upcoming Challenge Series
The journey of the Hong Kong team to secure a place in the main event begins this month. They are scheduled to compete in the Asian Sevens Series, with matches taking place this month and next.
A successful performance there would earn them a ticket to the Challenge Series in early 2026.
Their ultimate goal is to win that qualifying tournament and secure one of the four coveted spots to join the world's best teams in the main event at the Kai Tak Stadium.
