HK police conduct major public event drill in Sham Shui Po with 500 officers

The Police Tactical Unit Headquarters conducted a large-scale public event exercise in Sham Shui Po district on Monday, simulating multiple simultaneous public procession and crowd management scenarios. The drill included emergency response procedures and suspicious item handling at two major venues: Shek Kip Mei Park Sports Centre and Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre.

Over 500 police officers participated in the exercise alongside more than 30 youth members from 'Project TORCH' and 'Project PACER' initiatives. The training focused on enhancing coordination capabilities for public event management, crowd evacuation procedures, and emergency incident response to improve the force's preparedness for major incidents.
