A violent knife altercation between two 12-year-old classmates at a Tuen Mun primary school resulted in both students being arrested on Wednesday morning.

The altercation at Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Tang Shiu Kin Primary School in Tuen Mun
occurred at approximately 10.47am.
The incident this morning saw a female student allegedly use a craft knife to slash the male student's arm, causing a 1-centimeter wound. The male student then reportedly fought back, with the girl sustained injuries to her shoulder.
School staff immediately contacted authorities following the incident.
Paramedics transported the injured boy to Tuen Mun Hospital for treatment, while the female student was escorted by police for questioning before also being sent to the same hospital for medical attention.
Both students are currently in police custody as investigations continue.
Police preliminary investigations suggest the conflict stemmed from behavioral issues between the two P6 classmates, with authorities not ruling out potential bullying elements in the case.
The female student faces arrest on suspicion of "wounding," while the male student was detained for "common assault."
The case has been assigned to the Tuen Mun District Crime Squad for further investigation.
