A site adjacent to the Hong Kong Customs College in Tuen Mun has received approval for an amended plan that allows the construction of 2,670 flats – over 1,000 more than the original scheme.
The Town Planning Board earlier approved a residential development of 1,560 units on the 658,000-square-foot land in 2002.
The developer applied for easier restrictions on total floor area and building height.
Under the revised proposal, the maximum gross floor area will increase by about 20 percent from 1.14 million to 1.39 million sq ft. The height limit will also rise from 70 meters to 84 meters.
The project will now comprise seven residential towers ranging from 6 to 23 stories, along with 17 two-story low-rise houses.
The completion is targeted for 2030.
