A picture circulating online on social media shows a corner of an estate in Tuen Mun littered with Pinduoduo packages, resembling a scene from the video game Death Stranding, prompting customers to sift through the scattered goods to find their own parcels.
The poster discovered a large pile of packages scattered across an open space in Fu Tai Estate, with no workers present to organize the goods, resembling a scene from the video game Death Stranding. It was understood that these were Pinduoduo deliveries, but since the delivery personnel had clocked off for the day, the parcels were left unattended.
Customers hurried to the site to retrieve their packages upon seeing the post.
It was later updated that the parcels had been cleared by relevant authorities, "A truck came and took them away," netizens commented.
The chaos was believed to stem from Pinduoduo's recent promotion of "free delivery for one item," which overwhelmed delivery staff and delayed the distribution of packages. The management has sparked criticism from netizens online, with some noting that the push for free home delivery has turned into a mess.
Previous surge in Pinduoduo deliveries has caused significant congestion at various pickup points, resulting in long waits for residents.
