Yeung Tak-keung, chairman of the National Games Coordination Office, mentioned during a radio interview that ticket prices would be maintained at an affordable level to encourage greater attendance.
He elaborated that ticket costs are anticipated to vary, starting from a few dozen dollars up to a maximum of approximately HK$500. These prices will depend on several factors including the type of event, whether it is a preliminary or final match, and the availability of seats.
Yeung emphasized the commitment to setting ticket prices that are deemed acceptable by the public.
Furthermore, it is expected that around 5,000 athletes, referees, and officials from the mainland will travel to Hong Kong for the games. To accommodate them, eight hotels in Kowloon and the New Territories have been designated.
