Luo Fuli, often dubbed the "AI prodigy" in China due to her remarkable expertise in artificial intelligence, has joined Xiaomi's (1810) MiMo large-model team, according to mainland media reports citing a screenshot of her social media post.
The report said Luo wrote that intelligence will eventually evolve from language to the physical world, and that at Xiaomi MiMo she is working with a group of creative and passionate researchers to build that future and pursue their vision of artificial general intelligence.
Luo did not disclose when she joined Xiaomi.
Previously, rumors have circulated that the founder of Xiaomi, Lei Jun, offered her an annual compensation package of 10 million yuan (HK$10.92 million).
She was one of the key developers of DeepSeek-V2, a Chinese mainland large language model, and one of her relatives confirmed that she left DeepSeek earlier this year.
Luo was born in Yibin, Sichuan in 1995 and spent her childhood learning in a community library.
Her journey in the computer field began after enrolling at Beijing Normal University, where she established her career path.
After finishing her master's degree at Peking University, Luo joined Alibaba's (9988) Damo Academy to conduct research related to pre-trained language models.
