Amid the aftermath of the Tai Po fire, a surprise appearance of famous faces—including actor Louis Koo Tin-lok—brought a moment of comfort to Wang Fuk Court residents at a Winter Solstice banquet on Saturday afternoon.
Alongside government aid, the community organization SideBySide swiftly opened its transitional housing project, "Good House," in Tai Po to provide emergency shelter following the late November blaze.
To uplift the spirits of affected families, the group organized a poon choi feast yesterday afternoon, just one day before the Winter Solstice, setting up twenty tables for the residents.
A surprised star-studded gathering
The event took a celebratory turn with the low-key arrival of major celebrities, who offered an unexpected festive cheer and personal support during a difficult time.
Among those attending were actor Louis Koo, Alex Fong Lik-sun, actor Timmy Hung Tin-ming with his wife, former Miss Hong Kong Janet Chow Ka-wai, and beloved celebrity couple Louis Cheung Kai-chung and Kay Tse On-kay.
Koo's visit came amidst his packed schedule promoting the highly anticipated film "Back to the Past," set for release on New Year's Eve.
