The Henderson becomes first in Hong Kong and the mainland to achieve Platinum Certifications from ModeScore and ActiveScore

Henderson Land Development Company Limited announced on Thursday that The Henderson, a new iconic landmark and super Grade-A commercial development located in the heart of Central, has been awarded two prestigious sustainability certifications: ModeScore Platinum and ActiveScore Platinum.

This achievement distinguishes The Henderson as the first development in both Hong Kong and mainland China to receive these top-tier certifications, highlighting its outstanding sustainable transport and active travel facilities.

These certifications represent a significant milestone, establishing The Henderson as a frontrunner in sustainable urban development across the region.

ModeScore and ActiveScore are internationally recognized certifications that originate from the UK and are in line with the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) and UK BREEAM standards. 

ModeScore, which has been operational since 2024, is the leading certification system for sustainable transport and broader connectivity. 

ActiveScore, established in 2017, is the only globally recognized certification dedicated to active travel in real estate, assessing, certifying, and enhancing active travel facilities and services in buildings worldwide.

Spanning 465,000 square feet, The Henderson sets a new benchmark for sustainable and wellness-focused office environments in the region. It boasts excellent connectivity to public transport, an extensively beautified footbridge network enhanced with soundscapes, and pedestrian-friendly facilities. 

The development is committed to reducing carbon emissions through sustainable urban mobility infrastructure, which includes a five-story basement car park equipped with fast-speed, high-capacity EV chargers capable of supporting electric coaches and trucks, along with various types of EV charging stations for public and private parking.

In addition, The Henderson promotes active travel by offering dedicated bicycle parking spaces in the basement floors, changing and shower facilities on every office floor, and over a thousand lockers with electric locks for tenant use. 

The building also features wellness programs in the sky garden and an IoT-based bicycle locking system that reports parking status to the Digital Twin in real time, showcasing its commitment to encouraging active lifestyles.

With the addition of these two accreditations, The Henderson has now earned a total of 10 top-tier accreditations across various aspects of Green, Healthy, Smart Buildings, and Sustainable Lifestyle.
