The exercise simulated scenarios including an electrical fire and a suspicious item found on the premises, both necessitating an emergency evacuation.
The police said the drill helped strengthen government departments' emergency response capabilities during mega events and collaboration mechanisms with event organizers, ensuring public safety.
Over 100 participants took part in the drill, including the Central Police District, the Hong Kong Island Regional Tactical Unit, the Kong Wan Fire Station, the carnival organizers, the Central and Western District Community Care Team, and members of the Central Police District Senior Police Call.
The drill also saw the Central Police District provide a briefing on the procedures for handling "suspicious items", which aims to enhance the counter-terrorism awareness and emergency responses of event organizers and participants.
