Hong Kong universities hit record $14.2b in research commercialization

Beijing's top official overseeing Hong Kong affairs Xia Baolong is expected to explain the country’s latest economic policies and encourage business communities to continue investing in Hong Kong, when he chairs a symposium in Shenzhen on Friday.
Xia, Director of the Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office, arrived at the venue at the Shenzhen Wuzhou Guest House this morning. He was accompanied by Hong Kong's Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu, and Zheng Yanxiong, the Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR.
Government officials including Chief Secretary for Administration Chan Kwok-ki, Financial Secretary Paul Chan Mo-po, and Deputy Secretary for Justice Cheung Kwok-kwan were also seen entering the venue this morning.
Meanwhile, business representatives attending the symposium included Richard Li Tzar-kai, Chairman of Pacific Century Group; Peter Lee Ka-kit, Chairman of Henderson Land; Raymond Kwok Ping-luen, Chairman and Managing Director of SHK PPT; Eric Ma Siu-cheung, Chief Operating Officer of New World Development; and Stephen Ng Tin-hoi, Chairman of Wharf REIC.
