Fred Lam Tin-fuk, the chief executive officer of the Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) since 2014, has been appointed chairman of the Authority for a term of three years starting in June.

Lam will be replacing Jack So Chak-kwong after his nine years of leading the Authority.
Secretary for Transport and Logistics Lam Sai-hung thanked So for his contribution and unwavering commitment in the past years. The transport chief said Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) has seen steady growth and achieved several significant milestones including the planning and construction of the Three-Runway System, the development of Airport City, and the expansion of intermodal transport networks under So's leadership.
Lam Sai-hung also extended a warm welcome to Fred Lam and noted that he is conversant with the business of the AAHK and HKIA. He looks forward to working closely with Fred Lam to further enhance Hong Kong's status as an international aviation hub.
In addition to Fred Lam's appointment, the government also named three new members to AA. They are former deputy commissioner for transport Dorothy Chan Yuen Tak-fai, former deputy chief executive of Bank of China (Hong Kong) Ann Kung Yeung Yun-chi and tourism sector lawmaker Perry Yiu Pak-leung.
Under the Airport Authority Ordinance, the chairman and members of the AAHK are appointed by the Chief Executive.
