Mongrel sleeping underneath car almost killed in Sai Kung

A dog was almost killed by accident when she was sleeping underneath a car in Sai Kung with the driver about to drive away but luckily heard her crying. 

The incident occurred around 10.46 am on Tuesday in Nam Wai, Sai Kung when a villager started his car and was about to drive away. 

Yet, the villager heard the crying of an animal when he started to reverse his car and got out of the vehicle, only to find a dog trapped underneath. 

The owner immediately filed a report and firefighters and staffers from the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals were soon fielded to the scene. 

They successfully rescued the female mongrel who was confirmed to have remained unharmed upon a check-up by staffers of the SPCA. She was subsequently returned to her owner. 

According to the owner, the 13-year-old mongrel is named “Little Pig” and she loves sleeping underneath vehicles outside her home.
