(Central Station) Weasley twins bring a touch of magic to HK7s

It seems the Weasley twins from the Harry Potter franchise are taking a break from Quidditch as they are currently in Hong Kong enjoying a bit of muggle sport and festivities at the Rugby Sevens tournament! 

Actors James and Oliver Phelps, who played Fred and George in the movies respectively, will appear at the famous South Stand of the Hong Kong Stadium on Saturday – the second day of the tournament. 

It is understood that they will also photobomb supporters in costumes apart from joining in the Mexican wave with fans, so make sure you don’t just wear your normal jerseys when going to tomorrow’s games! 

They were invited to this mega event by the Hong Kong Tourism Board and have been traveling around the city and trying the local delicacies accompanied by the captain of the Hong Kong men’s rugby team Max Woodward and female player Chloe Chan. 

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the HK Rugby Sevens as well as it being its last tournament at the Hong Kong Stadium. 

Tickets were all sold out for the first time since the pandemic and inbound tourists took up about 40 percent of the sales, including supporters coming from the UK, Australia, and Fiji. 

This year, in addition to the 12 men’s and 12 women’s international teams, the tournament will also feature the Melrose Shield competitions, according to the HKTB’s website.
