A 47-year-old man was robbed immediately after he had successfully recovered about HK$253,000 in debt in Mong Kok on Tuesday, as police are now searching for two male robbers.

The incident occurred around midnight when the man, Cheung, was carrying the money in a paper bag and was about to enter his car at the intersection between Shanghai Street and Jordan Road.
Two men aged between 30 and 40 suddenly jumped on Cheung and started punching and kicking him. They grabbed the paper bag loaded with cash and tearing it apart during their fight.
Some of the cash scattered on the ground and Cheung was able to recover some tens of thousands of dollars but the rest was taken by the two robbers who then got into a taxi and fled towards Austin Road.
Cheung sustained minor injuries to his eyes and the incident was reported by passers-by. Police soon came to the scene and estimated that Cheung was robbed of about HK$218,000.
Cheung is reportedly a businessman. It is understood that he met a man and lent him HK$250,000 in September. Cheung was immediately robbed after recovering HK$253,000 including interest today.
Police listed the case as robbery and the case was passed to the Yau Tsim district crime investigation.
