Couple arrested for leaving son alone at Tin Shui Wai home

A couple was arrested on Tuesday night for allegedly leaving their eight-year-old son alone at their home in Ting Ching Estate in Tin Shui Wai.

Police received a report around 11.46 pm last night that the eight-year-old boy was suspected to have been left alone in a unit at Ching Moon House.

Officers soon arrived and, after preliminary investigation, arrested the 48-year-old father and the 46-year-old mother for ill-treatment and neglect towards a young person.

The boy hadn't sustained any apparent injuries. He was first sent to Tin Shui Wai Hospital and then transferred to Tuen Mun Hospital.

The case was passed to the Yuen Long district crime investigation team for further investigation.
