Man hit by falling mop at Grand Central in Kwun Tung

A 32-year-old man was hospitalized after he was hit on the head by a falling mop from Grand Central in Kwun Tong on Saturday afternoon. 

The incident was reported to police at around 12.15 pm today when the man was walking past Yue Man Square public transport interchange. 

It is understood that an 80-year-old woman from Grand Central 2 hung up the mop after cleaning her home however the mop was not in a secure position and fell to the street, hitting the man. 

The man sustained injuries to his face and feet but remained conscious. He filed a report with the police and paramedics sent him to United Christian Hospital. 

The area where the mop had landed was cordoned off by the security guard for police investigation. 

Police listed the case as an object falling from height and took the older woman to the police station for investigation.
