Covid hit 393 more buildings in HK, including 65 in Yuen Long

Covid-19 infections have hit 400 more buildings across Hong Kong on Monday including 65 in Yuen Long district, according to latest data released by the Centre for Health Protection. 

Both private blocks and public housing estates in Yuen Long were named in the list, including Tower 2 Riva of Helorus Boulevard, Tower 1 and 2 of Residence 88, Tower 1 and 2 of Crescent Green, as well as Shui Kwok House, Shui Yee House, Shui Yip House, and Shui Fung House of Tin Shui Estate. 

Cases were detected at over 10 disciplined services quarters, including Yuen Long Junior Police Officers Married Quarters, Block M of Correctional Services Department Staff Quarters in the Southern district, Block 2 of West Kowloon Disciplined Services Quarters, Block 1 of Chai Wan Police Married Quarters. 

The list also included 52 buildings in Sham Shui Po for the first time, including Cheong Yat House, Cheong Chung House, and Cheong Yin House at Nam Cheong Estate. 

Three buildings at Lai Ko Estate – Lai Fu House, Lai Huen House and Lai Mei House – were added to the list. 

Four more Taikoo Shing blocks – Tai Woo Mansion, Maple Mansion, Kwun Tien Mansion and Hoi Sing Mansion – reported Covid-19 infections on top of Pak Hoi Mansion. 

Similarly at Whampoa Garden, Block 1 Juniper Mansions, Block 5 Palm Mansions, Block 6 Bauhinia Mansions and Block 1 Bamboo Mansions were hit by Covid.

Meanwhile, a lockdown was declared at Ching Long House, Ching Ho Estate in Sheung Shui on Tuesday night after the sewage samples discharged from there tested positive for Covid-19. 

The lockdown is expected to be lifted around noon on Wednesday (Feb 16). 

Residents there must undergo compulsory testing by 11pm tonight while citizens who had been to that building between February 2 and today (Feb 15) must also take the tests by Thursday (Feb 17).

Vaccinated citizens and those who recently tested negative must also undergo testing as a mutant strain is involved.
