The naked body of Chan Yi-lam, 15, was found floating last year not far from the Hong Kong Design Institute in Tiu Keng Leng, where she studied.
Lee Wing-man, the laboratory technologist, said that Chan’s fingernails were among a batch of deposition that was sent to her by the police on September 22.
She noted that if there were fabrics inside her fingernails, they could have been swept away by sea current.

Chan Yin-lam died at the age of 15.
