Central-Hung Hom ferry route resume today

The ferry route between Central and Hung Hom resume today after nine years.

The operator, Fortune Ferry, expects to serve around 1,600 passengers per day. 

The first ferry was scheduled to leave at 7.30 am this morning, at Hung Hom (South) Ferry Pier to Central Pier No. 8.

Around 70 people waited at the Hung Hom pier this morning, for the first sailing, according to local sources.

The new route takes approximately 16 minutes to travel between Hung Hom and Central.

Ferries are scheduled to operate every 20 minutes during peak hours from Mondays to Saturdays; and every 30 to 50 minutes during non-peak hours, Sundays, and public holidays.

A single journey fare cost HK$9, and it's free for children under the age of 3. 

Half-priced single journey tickets of HK$4.5 are available for elderlies (aged 65 and above), children (aged 3 or above but under 12), and passengers with disabilities.
