The S2O Hong Kong Songkran Music Festival was held at the Central Waterfront Event Space for two consecutive days (Jun 8–9).
However, netizens from locations within Wong Tai Sin, including Lok Fu, Tsz Wan Shan, etc., complained that yesterday night (Jun 9) from 9 to 11 p.m., they had been disturbed by loud soundwaves, vibrations, and intense music beats, having contacted the police for assistance.
They also stated that they suspected the disturbance was related to the music festival across the sea.
However, some netizens suspected that the noise was not from the music festivals, as they did not believe that the music could be strong enough to reach Wong Tai Sin, and if it did, the whole of Hong Kong and Kowloon would also be affected.
The police responded to media inquiries today and confirmed they had received many reports last night regarding the disturbance.
They added that they had notified the reporters about the music festival occurring in Central, but they could not personally confirm if the source of the loud noise was related to the event.
