The spectacular aquatic show ‘House of Dancing Water' returns to City of Dreams Macau this May

The world-renowned aquatic masterpiece, 'House of Dancing Water,' is set to make a triumphant return to City of Dreams Macau this May. Featuring breathtaking aerial acrobatics, an emotionally charged storyline, and cutting-edge technology, the reimagined production promises a spellbinding experience that redefines the boundaries of live performance.

At a press conference held at the iconic Morpheus Macau, Melco Resorts & Entertainment Chairman and CEO, Lawrence Ho, officially announced the return of the show. Sharing the stage with Artistic Director of Peparini Studios, Giuliano Peparini, and esteemed officials from Macau’s cultural and tourism sectors, Ho expressed pride in bringing back the show that has captivated audiences worldwide.

“Today marks an exciting moment as the highly anticipated ‘House of Dancing Water’ is set to return to Melco’s flagship resort, City of Dreams Macau, this May. We are proud to offer visitors to Macau a unique and extraordinary entertainment experience,” Ho stated. “We firmly believe that the incomparable experience offered by ‘House of Dancing Water’ will shape Macau into a live performance destination, attracting tourists from around the world and supporting the government’s initiative to sustain Macau’s positioning as the ‘World Centre of Tourism and Leisure.’”

The press conference also gave attendees an exclusive glimpse of what’s to come. The cast of ‘House of Dancing Water’ appeared in full costume for a dazzling parade curated by Peparini, offering a taste of the artistry that will unfold in May. An exclusive backstage behind-the-scenes tour was also offered to guests attended, giving a glimpse for experiencing the intricate craftsmanship and cutting-edge technology behind the production.

A world-class production returns

Originally premiering in 2010, ‘House of Dancing Water’ has been hailed as a groundbreaking achievement in live entertainment. With a production budget exceeding RMB 2 billion, the show has performed nearly 4,000 times, attracting audiences from all over the globe. Its unique blend of romance, artistry, and innovation has earned rave reviews, solidifying its place as a cultural icon.

The venue itself is a marvel of engineering and theatrical design. The 270-degree theater-in-the-round features advanced water systems, hydraulic platforms, and state-of-the-art lighting and projection technology, creating an immersive environment where water becomes both stage and performer.

Under the artistic direction of Peparini, the reimagined show retains its original brilliance while embracing a modern narrative approach. “The show that you will experience in the near future will include plenty of innovative scenes, more characters, special performances, and surprises that I truly hope will make this experience unforgettable and exciting for future audiences,” said Peparini.

“The storyline of the show is completely unique, supported by an extraordinary stage that continuously moves and transforms throughout the performances. Enhanced by advanced technology, incredible projections, lighting, and special effects,” he added.

One of the show’s standout features will be a pre-show interaction, where cast members will engage directly with the audience, breaking the traditional boundaries between stage and spectator. The production will also feature a dynamic blend of acrobatics, choreography, and water stunts performed by a talented ensemble of nearly 300 cast and crew members from over 30 countries.
