Former Malaysian PM's Son Arrested for Drug Possession in Damansara, Ferrari and Heroin Found

The son of a former Malaysian prime minister has been arrested in Damansara after police discovered heroin and drug paraphernalia in his luxury vehicle during a crime prevention operation in the early hours of August 24. 

Selangor Police Chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar confirmed the arrest but declined to provide extensive details, only acknowledging that the suspect was indeed the child of a former national leader.

Authorities reportedly found approximately 3.16 grams of heroin in a packet labeled "MOTMOD" along with drug consumption equipment including foil, straws, and small containers during the search near the Damansara toll plaza. The suspect, believed to be in his 20s with prior drug-related records, was taken into custody under Section 39A(1) of Malaysia's Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which addresses possession quantities that may indicate trafficking intent.

Unverified online reports suggest the suspect was driving a Ferrari at the time of arrest, though police have not confirmed the vehicle model. The case has sparked widespread speculation on social media, with a partially obscured MyKad image circulating online leading to attempts to identify the suspect through artificial intelligence tools. The investigation continues as authorities work to establish the full circumstances of the case.
